KÈRÈGBÈ | Industrial Designer
Kèrègbè is water and cocktail drinkware inspired by the traditional African calabash, a vessel of welcome for generations. A custom hollow wooden base cradles the glass and lets it tilt to pour. Functional, and quietly playful.
The Challenge: Serving a drink is one of the oldest gestures of hospitality, but modern drinkware has reduced it to a utility. The challenge was bringing ceremony back to the table without sacrificing everyday function.
The Approach: The first prototypes were hand blown. Beautiful, but no two were alike, and a smooth rotation depends on a precise fit between glass and base. So the next iteration moves to mold blowing. Every piece comes out identical, and we are working with manufacturers to polish away the seam until the glass feels seamless again.
The Outcome: In manufacturing now, with release planned for February 2027. An everyday object that turns pouring into an act of presence.
